Zappa Plays Zappa gigs cancelled

It's being reported that the Zappa family has cancelled three gigs on the forthcoming Eurpoean leg of the Zappa Plays Zappa tour. Performances at Brighton, Glasgow and Wolverhampton are affected. I haven't been able to find out why. More details when I get them.

Bob Moog dies

Bob Moog, creator of the Moog synthsiser and electronic music pioneer has died at the age of 71. He was recently diagnosed with brain cancer.

He was a charming guy and I was lucky enough to see him when give a talk at Triptych 2004. I blogged this at the time (scroll to bottom of page for entry).

White Noise Update

Just updated with a bunch of interesting events for the next couple of months, the most exciting being the brace of left field artists performing at Instal 05. List available on the White Noise news page. I've also finally managed to get a review up of the Fantomas gig at the Garage back in June. Sometimes it just takes a while to get the words out... happy reading.

Quibbles aside, Bishop was gobsmacking. Best of all, he announced he was coming back with teh Sun City Girls for this year's Instal festival in Glasgow and again in 2006 on a Euopean tour.
